It’s Time for a Back-to-School Checkup!
Friday, July 21, 2017

Summer vacation is coming to an end and the new school year is just around the corner. Whether it’s buying school supplies or making sure that your children are up-to-date on their shots, it’s important to not forget about your child’s dental health.

A back-to-school checkup should be done at the start of the school year in order to make sure that your child’s teeth are healthy and free of any dental problems that may affect their health. If left untreated, dental problems can lead to more serious overall health problems as well as a decrease in academic performance.

Because good oral hygiene can be linked to success in the classroom, a back-to-school checkup can take care of potential dental problems at the root of the issue before they have the opportunity to affect overall performance and health. Whether it’s a cavity or other dental issue - mouth pain, eating problems, and speaking problems can all lead to school absences.

At Younts DDS, our team will check your child’s teeth for cavities and make sure that they are clean. We will also make sure that he or she is taking care of their teeth correctly. Since we can’t be around all the time, don’t forget to remind your children to brush at least twice a day (morning and night) as well as floss once a day. You should also be weary of how much sugar they’re consuming (as well as yourself!) because it can have very negative effects on the teeth.

Schedule a checkup with Dr. Younts today! We look forward to seeing you!
